guilty or innocent...

I have read many, many books by James Patterson and "Guilty Wives" was very good.  Four friends go away together to Monte Carlo for a much-needed girls weekend.  While they are away the unspeakable happens, two men are shot and they four women are arrested and go to jail.  One of the women, Abbie, refuses to give in and confess to a crime she didn't commit and spends her days trying to figure out how to get to the truth.  There are twists I did not see coming and really liked the ending too...

50 shades, thank goodness I am done...

I finished the third book in the trilogy, "Fifty Shades Freed" and even though I read the book quickly Ireally did not like it that much.  I know Christian was able to break through his problems and come out the other side because of the love he and Ana share, but honestly, I found it very boring overall.

What did you think?

2nd time is a charm...

Well, I just finished reading the second book in the "Fifty Shades" trilogy and I have to say that I liked this one a whole lot better than the first one.  I felt that this one had more of a story and was leading towards something.  I still really liked the sections where Ana and Christian are emailing each other back and forth.  The subject lines and signatures are very funny and their silly banter is quite cute.  At least now I can say I am looking forward to seeing what book three has to offer...

I will keep you posted :)

not quite a detective story...

"From Barcelona With Love" by Elizabeth Adler is the fourth in a series about Mac Reilly.  This is the first book I have read, not knowing it was a continuing series until just now when I was looking up other book by this author and I have to say it was good, really good.  I had no problem keeping up or even realizing there was a back story with Mac and his love interest, Sunny.

Bibi, a singer and actress, is accused of a double-murder.  There was never any proof and she was set free.  But Bibi goes into hiding, just disappearing from her life and leaving her daughter, Paloma, in the care of her sister.

Paloma starts to stalk Mac and really wants him to find her mom.

money and power...

This is the first book I have read by author John Lescroart.  This book, "Damage" was quite good.  It is about a wealthy family, the Curtlee's.  Their son, Roland, "Ro", was sent to prison for rape and murder.  It is 10 years later and the family lawyers have won him a re-trial.  Within days of him getting released from jail on bail, a key witness from the first trial is killed as it the wife of the jury foreman.  All signs point to Ro and homicide detectives are racing to gather evidence and get Ro back to jail where he belongs.

Good book...I am definitely going to pick up another book from this author soon.

Is it Tuesday?...

I really enjoyed "Tuesday's Child" by Fern Michaels.  Sophie Lee was sent to jail for a crime she didn't committ.  It is 10 years later and the really killer confesses to the crime.  He is dying and wants to to die with knowing he told the truth and he leaves all his assets to Sophie too.  All the lawyers race around to get things in order so Sophie can be released from prison and start to live her life.

There are twists and turns and surprises I never expected.  I have to say that I really enjoyed this book with the exception of the ending which I really despised.

Let me know what you think...
